What we do
Every day we go through the suppliers' catalogues, store each lot with its manifest (the list of products it contains) and compare it with the rest. We don't sell lots: you always buy on the supplier's website.
When a lot sells out we don't delete it. Its page stays online as a historical record, because knowing what it sold for and how long it took to sell is the best benchmark for valuing new lots.
Where the data comes from
- Lots and manifests: from the suppliers' public websites, updated daily.
- Reference RRP: the retail price the supplier publishes for each product in the manifest. It is not the current Amazon price.
- Product identification: we recognise the same product across different lots by its ASIN, Amazon's identifier.
How we calculate each lot's analysis
- Price per unit: the lot price divided by the number of products.
- Discount on RRP: what the lot costs compared with the sum of the RRPs in its manifest. We only show it when at least 60% of the products have an RRP.
- Comparisons: medians by category and by supplier, recalculated weekly over euro-priced, fixed-price lots. Auctions are excluded because their price is the starting bid, and we only publish a median when at least 20 lots are behind it.
- Rankings and statistics: recalculated from the manifests; rankings every night and the statistics observatory every week.

How we are funded
LotesOnline is free for buyers. The site is funded through:
- As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. The “View on Amazon” links are affiliate links.
- Listing plans for suppliers: suppliers can pay to have their catalogue published, a paid service from €49/month.
- Advertising: some pages show Google AdSense ads.
The data we calculate (each lot's analysis, comparisons, rankings and statistics) follows the same rules for every supplier, whether they pay or not.
Errors and corrections
The data comes from the suppliers and sometimes contains errors: badly formatted prices, incomplete manifests or garbled text. If something doesn't look right, write to us and we'll check it.
